Parent (and Student) Testimonials

Dear Pete,

Words cannot begin to describe the gratitude we feel to everyone at MST for the wonderful experiences our entire family has had over the past two years. Under the tutelage of you and your staff and faculty, B & S have grown into bright, loving and generous children. Because of the community you foster, Marc & I have felt an integral part of our children’s education. Not only that, but we’ve met such wonderful people through that community!

The atmosphere of your school is so nurturing and loving, and I’m not the only one who thinks so as evidenced by the phenomenal growth of the school. We feel lucky to have been part of it all.

Thanks again for everything. MST will be among our best memories of Tokyo and always in our hearts. It is very comforting to know that our kids got the best start possible.

Fondly,
Aimee & Marc W.

Dear Pete,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you and everyone at MST for every thing you have done for I in the last few years. She came in to Tokyo as this small toddler and we are proud she how she has developed into this child who enjoys learning and believes in fair play. At MST, it has been just the type of education we would have wanted for her. If we were to live the years again, we would do MST again!

Going to Sydney, Australia we will be enrolling Ipshita (and her brother) in Montessori education again. This is obviously thanks to the wonderful experience at MST (the school in Sydney has a tough act to follow!)

Mohita V.

Dear All,
So we have to say goodbye from MST and that means pain in our hearts. MST was amazing and we will never forget this special school. We feel very privileged that Kiki could be at MST for 25% of her elementary education, we wish it was longer… We are sure Kiki will take advantage from this period for the rest of her life. And she is not the only one. We met a community we did not experience so often in our lives. (Where have we been!!!!)

Some highlights:
- The warm welcome every morning when Kiki arrived; shake hands, always a laugh and friendly faces.
- K; for her inspiring quotes.
- Seeing all the tanned and smiling faces at Narita airport when our children came back from Hawaii.
- Discussing with her teachers about Kiki’s school progress and see a change the next day; the willingness and openness of L&J to listen, communicate and act!
- Working with all the children on Persephone, the children’s opera - all the little hands with paint, the passion during practice.
- The world record Ben & Kiki cycled from our home 3-3-33 Roppongi to school 3-5-13 Minami Azabu in 4’41.87”.
- The resolving of the parking issue. It works, we can learn a lot from it in the Netherlands.
- The clear and outspoken opinion and message of the head of school in the monthly newsletter; “It seems that, as in life, change is the only constant factor at MST.”
- The diversity of the curriculum; from volcanoes, timelines and geometry to Persephone, art and filling in your journal.
- The warm goodbye every afternoon when Kiki left school; the conversations with the parents before 3:15pm and the conversations with the teachers and children after 3:15pm.
- We could go on and on.

MST is an example for all of us. When all leaders have the respect, confidence and compassion and act accordingly as we experienced it at MST, we would live in a much better world. So we, common people, have a lot of work to do…

Thank you all,
Betty vG & Ben vdB.

And one from an Upper Elementary student after 6 months of being at MST.

Our classroom has more free space than in my old school. We have as many students, but two teachers, which is better. My old classroom had only a whiteboard. At MST we have much more learning material. In my old school we filled in worksheets all day long and it drove me crazy. At MST we are free to choose what material we want to use for learning. MST Upper EL is the best!
