This year’s Instrumental Recital Night happened at Densho Hall, in the Shibuya Cultural Center. It was a very beautiful hall. The neatly rowed seats were cushioned on the back and studded with golden seat numbers on the top. The stage was lit from the center outwards giving the performer a kind of glow to them when they entered. Getting a chance to perform in such a beautiful hall really added to the night.

Musical pieces included opera, Chinese traditional music, folk, rock, pleasing piano compositions and even a solo dance.
“The recital night was good and I think our band performed well,” Nakoa, Eucalyptus pianist, said.
Eucalyptus also helped out with the production of the event. “Being backstage was very exciting because we got to see all of the performers. But it was quite nerve-racking to handle all the expensive equipment,” said Rowan, one of the backstage helpers.

There were many wonderful performances and an abundance of
families gathered to watch them play. Middle school guitarist Anna said, “the performance was great but I was nervous about going on stage”.
Crowd-pleasing performances included Music Teacher Daisy performing piano and a folk duet by Eucalyptus teacher Jason and parent Ebony.
It was great to see an abundance of MST families that turned up to support the performers, encouraging them to keep pushing their performances to their greatest potential. All in all, it was a fantastic night that was enjoyed by all!
