Eucalyptus Shadow Visits

These past weeks in the Eucalyptus classroom have been full of Willow visitors. This is because the shadowing program has started for third year Willow students to come up and experience our class for a few days, to see what their next few years here will be like, if they are staying in MST.
The shadow visits are like a rite of passage for graduating Willow students, even if they aren't coming to Eucalyptus for Middle School. Students usually come up in pairs of two, and either follow their guides around for their time, or spend a day in the kitchen, experiencing preparing our community lunch.
I interviewed some of our shadows about some of their interests. While all their answers mostly fit into what you would expect a student to say, they always had different answers to each other. Some said they like to write, while others prefer to read or play video games. On the other hand, we have the more active type who like to bake or do sports.
When I asked about favourite subjects, Math and History were both big ones, but there were the occasional answers that just included every subject. There was a lot of diversity.
To sum it up, I think that the Willow kids enjoyed their stay in Eucalyptus, and we can't wait to welcome them into the Eucalyptus community next year!
