MST Recognized for Emergency Preparedness

Representatives of the Tokyo Fire Department visited MST to award the school a certificate recognizing our efforts in health and safety. Chief Eiichi Hazumi, who oversees the Azabu Fire Station, explained that the certificate is given to institutions who have gone above and beyond for emergency preparedness.

Over the years the fire department has helped train nearly all the faculty and staff in CPR and first aid. And through them, two of our staff became certified fire marshals–Shoko Lowe, School Nurse and Chisa Honda, Educational Affairs. Additionally, several other staff members have been trained by the fire department on firefighting and emergency management.

Chief Hazumi was accompanied by Captain Harumi Andou, who leads a paramedic division. MST was the first of five institutions they were visiting that day, one day after Emergency Medical Services Day which was celebrated on September 9.
