Patchwork Quilt: A Slideshow of Every End-of-Year Celebration 2025

MST celebrated the end of the school year with an action-packed 11 events, including a science fair, 2 graduations, 4 transition ceremonies, 2 gatherings, a grand re-opening and a concert.

As the “Photography Guy”, attending every one of these events, I got to see how our community is made up of smaller, overlapping, interconnected communities, with siblings, parents and staff crossing over from celebration to celebration. There were plays, speeches, songs, art, science projects, gardens, memory books, watermelon and pizza parties.

There was a Pine child proudly exclaiming, “This is my daddy! This is my daddy! This is my daddy!” There was an eclectic Olive art project that included ALL their ideas. There were Hazel actors enacting a favorite book and especially enjoying the “bonking” of the head.

There were Willow musicians who moved the audience. There was a Maple emcee who delivered his joke perfectly. There was a theater full of parents cheering like it was a rock concert. There was a Eucalyptus graduation speech attached to delicious homemade cookies which attendees read and munched silently. And there were many more such stories, small and big, in this rich patchwork quilt of our community.

As a long time MST parent, over the years I had wished event photos were more accessible and not offered months later behind a paywall. So taking these photos and sharing them is one of my favorite acts of service to the wider community. And it is certainly more fun than, say, analyzing web traffic and gaming digital ad algorithms. So 2,000 pictures later, here’s a slideshow of some of my favorite shots.

Enjoy!
