Together We Build: Exciting Progress on MST’s High School Program

Updated: Nov 11, 2025

Dear MST Families,

I'm thrilled to share the momentum building around our Upper Adolescent (High School) program! This month has brought positive developments that bring us significantly closer to offering your children an authentic Montessori adolescent experience that will truly prepare them to be global citizens and leaders.

Advisory Council Expands

We've just welcomed Dr. Ben Freud, Head of Upper School at Green School Bali, to our Advisory Council. The Advisory Council, composed of experts in Montessori and innovative adolescent education, will be giving the MST team feedback and support as we craft our program.

Dr. Freud is a pioneer in regenerative education and innovative, learner-centered curriculum design – exactly the kind of visionary thinking that will ensure our program serves your adolescent’s developmental needs and that their learning will have a tangible impact on the world. He joins our current Advisory Council members, Pat Ludick (AMI Auxiliary Trainer), Kelly Jonelis (Adolescent Director, Wheaton Montessori), and Kira Donnelley (former MST faculty).

Additionally, we're making progress on accreditation requirements and we are in the early stages of strategic planning for campus facilities for this new program. The integration we're building means that students completing their time in the Eucalyptus class will transition beautifully into upper-level work that honors their independence, curiosity, and passion for community contribution.

How You Can Support

Please take our survey to help shape our campus facilities plan! As we work toward a strategic vision for all of MST and the Adolescent Program, we want your feedback on our campus facilities plan. Click here to take the survey

Please reserve a spot for our November Upper Adolescent Visioning Session on Thursday, 11/27, at 6:00pm in the Forest MPR where we will share the foundational parts of the new program in detail and invite your partnership in evolving the Upper Adolescent program. This will be your opportunity to:

  • Engage with the vision and foundation our staff has articulated

  • Share your family's hopes for a transformational high school education

  • Contribute ideas about community partnerships and opportunities

  • Connect with other families interested in this educational journey

In the meantime, if you have specific areas of professional expertise that would benefit our team as we build this program, please fill out this form! Depending on our needs and the phase of our program, we will be reaching out to those who fill out the form as needed.
